Mr. Anwar Rehman completed his M.A. (Political Science), and LL.B. Degrees before coming to Canada. In September 1993, he completed his Diploma in Labour Laws (D.L.L.); this is a one year post graduate diploma from the University of Punjab (U of P), at the same time he received his Canadian Permanent Resident Visa. He wrote the final exam in October while preparing to come to Canada permanently. He arrived in Canada at the end of October 1993. The D.L.L. result was announced a few months later and he achieved First Class (First Division) from Law College, the University of Punjab, which is one of the best Universities in the world.
Mr. Rehman holds a Commissioner for Oaths (Alberta) Certificate since 1999, a Commissioner for Oaths (Saskatchewan) Certificate since 2006 and a Commissioner for Oaths (Quebec) since 2011. He is a Member of Association of Interpreters and Translators of Canada (AITC) since 1999. He is Member of Administrative Consultants Association (ACA) in the U.S.A. since 2011. He is Member of the British Pakistan Law Council since 2006 and a Lifetime Member of Lahore Bar Association. He was an Associate Member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) from 2000 to 2010 until CBA stop the Associate Member category. He was Member of International Association of Immigration Practitioners (Canada) from 2003 until the organization closed in 2010. He was a Member of Canadian Society of Immigration Practitioners (CSIP) from 2006 to 2011 when this organisation closed. He is also Former Member of Canadian Society of Immigration Consultant (CSIC).
Mr. Rehman has completed several continuing education courses in Alberta, Canada including Critical Skills for Communication in Conflict and Alternative Dispute Resolution from Alberta Arbitration & Mediation Society. Moreover, he has completed a Modern Office Specialists Certificate from N.A.I.T., and Business Communication and Business Management Courses from Alberta College in Edmonton.
In addition, he has taken a Private Investigation Course, Legal and Community Interpreting Courses from Alberta Vocational College in Edmonton, Modern Office Professional from Campbell & Associates in Edmonton, Real Estate and Mortgage Consulting Certificates from Mount Royal College in Calgary, and Tax Preparation Course from the Liberty Tax School. Mr. Rehman has attended numerous one or two day seminars and workshops for professional development. To update his knowledge of U.S. Immigration, he completed the “Immigration Procedure Certificate” in the summer of 2008. He achieved 96 % in the course and received a “Certificate of Outstanding Achievement!”
In June 2004, the Directors and Registry of Who’s Who took pleasure in announcing the inclusion of Mr. Rehman in the 2004 – 2005 editions. In 2005, Mr. Rehman was nominated by the Governing Board of Editions of the American Biographical Institute (ABI) for the prestigious title “MAN OF THE YEAR”. The institute’s International Board of Research decided on his nomination due to his overall accomplishments and contributions to society. In 2007 – 2008, Continental Who’s who had decided to award him a Premier Member to the recognition of excellence.
Mr. Rehman has been living in Alberta since 1993, when he moved to Canada. He takes pride in building a culture of reliability, efficiency, confidentiality, and honesty in his organization. From 1997 to 1999, he worked with the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers and the Calgary Mennonite Centre for New Comers. Since December 1999 he is working with Active Professionals (A Division of CIBS LTD) as CEO.
Mr. Rehman is a community worker and had worked as a volunteer with the Canadian Community Guidance Institute, Edmonton for over a year as Guidance Counsellor. In Calgary, he has worked for 2 terms as a Director at Large with the Martindale Community Association. Since 2010 he is working with the Wildrose Global Poverty Fund. Furthermore, he has worked with his ethnic community association and religious community associations in Edmonton and Calgary. He has a very sensitive heart and has provided pro bono work for refugee and immigrant who had no money.
As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) his roll is to oversee the office day to day work and manage the office. As a Consultant, Mr. Rehman consults and represents client for all kinds Canadian Citizen Applications, Canadian Pardon Applications, Refugee Travel Documents and Personal Income Tax Returns. He co-ordinates between client and the Translator/Interpreter for translation and interpretation assignments.
Mr. Rehman does not consult or represent clients at Immigration Canada, Refugee Board, Immigration Appeal Division or Canada Border Services. Authorized RCIC (Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants) who are ICCRC Members working with Active Professionals are responsible to assist clients. As a Paralegal and Commissioner for Oaths of three provinces, he performs some paralegal work and commissioner for oaths duties.
Neither Mr. Rehman nor anyone else at Active Professionals is members of the law society of Alberta, called Barristers and Solicitors in Alberta (also known as a lawyer).
Mr. Rehman has the ability to conduct business in English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
